Hirsz Jonah Zylber lived in Lublin. His brother was Moszek Zylber.

His wife’s name was Mirla, she passed away in 1977 in Israel, she survived the war.

Two of  their children survived as well Cyduk Zylber (AKA Stephen Gilbert) who lived in Sydney, as well as a daughter that went to Israel.

He was a very wealthy man with a brewery and brick factory.

He was the Rosh Hakahal of Lublin for 10 years. He was very involved with the founding of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin and donated the bricks to build the yeshiva.
